the view from my studio window

Should be working, but I'm fixing pants instead.
As much as I've been into
this foggy weather we've been having,
I could use a few hot weeks in Cuba right now.
Just sayin.

Seattle - stuck in the 90's, but I love it.

W view from Downtown
near the Pike Place Market.
I just love this city.
(and the fog on that particular day)

ringing in the new year!

in the back and it's right across from
Creativity Explored
2 in 1 pit stop!

when you go to the oaks park skating rink you skate
to a live pipe organ which is suspended above your
head in the middle of the rink.
amazing!

may: my b-day month!

waffle party!
every year I make a bunch of something
(like crepes or waffles)
and everyone brings a topping.
of course bloody mary's are involved.
happy birthday to me!

mexican dee-lights!

june: new family

ridiculously cute new beans in the family!

july: union of friends

ah, sweet home!
(it really is called Sweet Home OR!)
the best place to play cribbage and jump off of cliffs and inner tube
down the santiam river and cook and sleep in front of a fire
and then cook some more and swim and then hike
up to the waterfall and back and then
drink some wine.

september: back to the coast.... astoria!

We were supposed to go camping
with a bunch of folks in the NW tip of WA.
Everyone bailed so we said "fuck it"
and did a last minute trip to Astoria instead.
The vacancy sign was from the shack we stayed at,
but hey - it had a kitchen and a comfy bed.
If you ever go to Astoria - you must eat at the Columbia Cafe
and check out the attached bar. Good thrifting too!
And of course, you can't beat the Oregon Coast.

october: touch my halloweenie

2006: Wade, meet Wade

2007: Cocaine, meet Moondog

2008: Little Edie, meet Owl

of course.

december: wiggin' out.

white elephant wig party
( I ended up with "the clapper"
but couldn't get it to work so I returned it
for a blow up bath pillow since my bathtub
is not angled for taking baths.)

and lots of snow and ice.

what I woke up to in 2009:

the view from our bed on the OR coast!

this is where I live people

I originally embroidered this on a t-shirt....
I'm still not in love with Portland, but I like it an awful lot!

seriously though - I've always thought of Oregon as the "devil horn's" state.
Maybe that's why I've stayed for so long?

mixtapes...

these need some color... ?

blood and crosswords

for the sake of literal...

Even though this blog isn't necessarily about food, or all things "fucked up" I've decided to start it with these photos from my hospital stay during an OHSU study. I think I was trying to reclaim my own fucked up hospital experience from when I was 13 and 14 and decided to document it. They took so much blood that my veins were like "uh uh" and just seized up. I gladly took the valium they offered to get the blood moving... who knew my veins had a mind of their own? Anyway - the food was bland, but edible and the coffee was just horrible. The overall experience was peaceful, and a little sad, but overall - good.
